Meet the Penn Family

Welcome to our family-raised dog breeding program! We are dedicated to providing homes with healthy, well-socialized puppies. Our dogs are in a nurturing environment where they receive the best care and attention. Join us in finding your perfect furry companion!
Here at Schnauzer Paw Homestead we are raising all around well mannered family dogs. All of my adults live in my house and are apart of our family. My giants are raised with my little kids, who they absolutely adore. Around 95% of my puppies go to families with kids and they have always done amazing.

I have had several of my puppies go off to be service dogs; whether that's helping people suffering from PTSD or helping the disabled. The reason I love this breed is because they can be trained to be exactly what you need in a furry companion.

Something that I can not express enough is that giant schnauzer HAVE to be trained!! As puppies, giant schnauzer can be difficult. A lot of this is because they are so intelligent and yet also so stubborn as they are constantly observing their owners, learning new tricks/commands, and learning the house rules while also being potty trained can be a lot at the start. If you put in the work and dedicated training, by the time they are adults they can be the best dog you've ever had.
All of our dogs come from a wide range of backgrounds making sure no cross-breeding is happening. We are only breeding to better the genetics of GS and to keep their legacy at its prime. We focus on well-tempered, family companion dogs. As you look through every dog's pedigree, 1 of the 4 of my dogs' parents comes from overseas, and 2 of the 4 I bought from the breeder directly overseas, and 1 is an absolutely beautiful pepper & salt. I took it personally to find the best genetic lines, the most gorgeous looks, and the very best personalities to start my lines of giant schnauzers.
Breeding at a high standard comes with a price, my foreign dogs came with a high price tag. Each one of my dogs comes fully health tested which cost around 1,400$ a piece. The cost of everything has risen making food, vet bills, medicine, toys, grooming, whelping, etc. all go up over the past few years. There are a lot of costs that come with breeding that the average person may not be aware of, for instance; reproductive vet xrays cost around $200-500, progesterone testing $100, and C-sections $1,000-3,000, artificial insemination $800 - $1,000 and that is not including all the stuff I have on hand like scales, heating pads, whelping boxes, cleaning supplies, supplements, and so on. Not to mention the time that I spend with them, not to say I don't enjoy every minute of it. It does not matter what is going on in my life, when one of my mamas goes into labor, I have to stop everything and sit there with her to make sure she is doing okay and that no complications come up, whether that be in the middle of the day or the middle of the night. I can also promise any dog leaving my facility has been very well socialized with people, other dogs, and loud noises to make the transition to their new home easier.

When you are choosing what breeder to buy from, you are not only paying for a puppy, but the tools, knowledge, experience, love, time, and sacrifices a breeder makes.

I hope you can see that by purchasing a puppy from me, you will only be getting the best. All of my adult dogs were raised inside my own house, constantly getting to go on hikes or to the dog park, always receiving new toys, sleeping on my furniture, and never letting me go to the bathroom alone. With this comes a guarantee that I know them and understand them, meaning whatever type of personality you are looking for from a GS I will help you find. And if the case is that I don't have a dog fitting all your requirements, I will let you know. I only want my puppies to go home to a family that is right for them.
